WBO middleweight champion Savannah Marshall might be the answer to Claressa Shields’ impeccable dominance as Eddie Hearn doesn’t see the American go 10-rounds against the ‘Silent Assassin’.
Following a sensational third-round KO against Marie Lindberg, the undefeated Marshall is now 10-0 in pro boxing. Meanwhile, she has added 8 KOs under her name and can rightfully challenge Claressa Shields’s resume at this point.
One of the greatest female boxers ever, Shields boasts one more win under her name with a record-setting 11-0 run. However, she has attained only 2 of those wins via KOs. So, Marshall might be the harder puncher between the two.

After her first successful title defense, Savannah Marshall appeared thrilled and ready to compete against the bigger names, inclusive of Claressa Shields on her radar. Meanwhile, Matchroom Director Hearn dropped a bombarding statement by pulling his favor over Marshall against Shields.
In the post-fight interview, Hearn said, “I love Claressa Shields, I think she’s great. I think she’s done such a great job for women’s boxing. There is no way she goes 10 rounds with Savannah Marshall. Savannah Marshall is the only girl to beat Claressa Shields in her entire life. She beat her in the amateurs, she will beat her in the professionals” (H/T: Bad left hook)

That said, one of the two would have to shift a weight class, and considering Shield’s move to the MMA world, she might not opt for a weight jump. But Marshall can viably do that, and a fight with Shield seems legitimate at this stage.
Both the unbeaten champions are regarded as two of the finest of the era. So, it’s high time to recognize the better pugilist between them. While the only way to find out is an in-ring collision, fight fans can expect it to happen soon.
Adding to that, Marshall will enjoy a 3-inch height advantage over Shields. If she can put it to use, we can see ‘T-Rex’ fall prey to ‘The Sweet Assasin’ in one of the biggest clashes of women’s boxing.
