The heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua has been on the cards for years. However, several factors have prevented the matchup from happening.
Tyson Fury is slated to defend his WBC title in December, with no official opponent announced yet. Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua will also defend his WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO titles against Kubrat Pulev in December. Thus, it is only when the British champions defend their titles successfully, they will collide against each other.

Amongst several people who have touted for the fight, Eddie Hearn is one of the most prominent men. He has always been keen on materializing Fury vs Joshua. That said, he has recently outlined a possibility of the fight regarding the ongoing circumstance of the heavyweight title tale.
Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua still have some tests to answer
During an interaction with Sky Sports, Hearn predicted that Fury will go ahead with some easy opponent for his upcoming fight in December. Although he didn’t demean the move, Hearn claimed that Joshua got a real fight on his radar.

He said, “The most important thing is that both the fighters win in December. I think the good news on that is Tyson Fury is not going to fight anyone significant.
“And listen, he is coming off a big win against Deontay Wilder. If he takes an easy touch in December, which he looks like he is going to, I don’t think you can criticize him for that, but we have got real fights in our hands.”

He added, “We (Matchroom) can’t take our eyes off Kubrat Pulev. He is a top-five heavyweight, mandatory, you know he has only one loss against Wladimir Klitschko. You know, big puncher, great technician. So, we got to be focusing on what we are doing. I hope he (Fury) picks an easy fight in December.”
2021 will hold a lot in store for heavyweight boxing if Joshua and Fury win their upcoming battles. There’s no way they wouldn’t be fighting then. However, things can change again if one champion loses his fight in December.
