A couple of days back, ex-WBC heavyweight champ Deontay Wilder poured cold water on the much-awaited showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. The fight between these British warriors was in contention for a long time. And it was finally set to take place on August 14, Saudi Arabia.

However, Wilder took the matters to a legal route, and the arbitrator ruled the decision in his favor, stating Tyson Fury and ‘The Bronze Bomber’ should fight each other by September 15, 2021.

Both Joshua and Fury’s teams were left in awe, as they were all set to go up against each other next. Recently, Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, was in chat with Matchroom Boxing. Here, he revealed the telephonic conversation he had with Fury’s US promoter, Bob Arum.

He said, “You know, I think he was in complete and utter shock. I’ve never really heard him speechless, but he’s been very bullish throughout this whole process.

“I know it’s their business and we don’t know too much about contracts in the case, but this wouldn’t be a problem. This wouldn’t stand in a way of an Anthony Joshua Tyson Fury fight, and that’s quite frustrating,”

Eddie Hearn even admitted that they worked extremely hard to stage this fight in the most perfect setting. And after much rigmarole, the bout between the two was all set to materialize. However, the Alabama native, who suffered a vicious loss to Fury last year, had a strong urge to book the trilogy and settle his scores.
