The fans are eager for Anthony Joshua to step foot inside the boxing ring again. The former two-time world champion fought last in April, winning in his bout against American Jermaine Franklin. This was Joshua’s first fight after two consecutive losses to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk. The 33-year-old is eager to pave his path back to glory. And he is ensuring that he leaves no stone unturned to step inside the boxing ring, leading him to that goal amid the rumors of a super fight between Deontay Wilder and Joshua in December. Meanwhile, it seems Wilder doesn’t want to stay inactive.

The former champ’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, recently made an announcement about Joshua’s potential fight ahead of the clash with Wilder in Saudi Arabia. It should be noted that Joshua’s fight against Franklin was his return to the ring after consecutive losses. And his recent win was much-needed for the Briton.

Michael Benson from talkSPORT took to Twitter and updated the boxing world about Eddie Hearn’s remarks on Joshua’s next potential opponent before his rumored super fight against ‘The Bronze Bomber’. Hearn even specified the date for this potential fight for the former champ.

According to Hearn, Joshua will fight Dillian Whyte, which will “probably” take place on August 12th. This will be a rematch between the two after Joshua beat Whyte in their first encounter in 2015 via technical knockout. It should be noted that an official confirmation for a rematch between the two is yet to be made.

This is not the first time talks of a fight between the two have surfaced in the boxing world. Whyte was the name that kept coming up while talking about Joshua’s future opponents after his fight with Franklin. It will be interesting to see if the rematch yields different results. And, if Whyte is able to redeem himself against the former two-time unified champion.
