“Yeah, absolutely. Texas is arguably one of the best commissions in world boxing but definitely in America. We’ve done a number of fights here. We’ve done Canelo Alvarez fights here. Two of them. They’ve been outstanding every time. They’ve been fair but they’ve been strict,” stated Hearn eagerly hoping to see Benn back in the ring. Benn, who held a British license recently looked forward to squaring off against Chris Eubank Jr. in June 2023 in Abu Dhabi. However, the general secretary of BBBofC warned Benn and his team about a possible fine and even withdrawal of their license if they went to Abu Dhabi without the approval of BBBofC.
However, Hearn is determined to see Benn return to boxing. Speaking of a license in Texas, he emphasized the “great relationship” he shared with the commission. “We have a great relationship with them. So, eventually, when we’re looking at licenses for Conor Benn, it should be an incredible commission to apply for one,” he concluded.
