Matchroom Managing Director, Eddie Hearn, has recently bashed Top Rank CEO, Bob Arum, for his controversial comments regarding two super fights ahead. Both the promotions are currently working together to stage the heavyweight title unification between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Meanwhile, Hearn is also interested in determining a bid for Teofimo Lopez’s upcoming fight against George Kambosos Jr. However, Top Rank shelters Lopez, and Arum is unwilling to let Eddie Hearn decide the fate for ‘Take Over’.

That said, he has threatened to put an impact on the Joshua vs Fury fight, if Hearn poses his right towards Teofimo Lopez. In response, Eddie Hearn has ridiculed Bob Arum and has shared his opinion on Sirius XM Boxing.

“I think if it goes to Teofimo Lopez, I wouldn’t have really liked that interview. You are basically trying to threaten people, not to bid because it will affect relationships and deals on other fights. It’s got nothing to do with the Fury vs Joshua fight. This is a fight for the undisputed or popping Devin Haney’s belt. The argument rose on,” said Hearn.

Eddie Hearn and Bob Arum needs to put aside their differences

Hearn further labeled Bob Arum’s tactics as a “terrible” aspect of boxing. While Arum and Hearn hold two of the prime promotions in the sport, the rivalry between them prevails in a low-key format. But, Eddie Hearn seems to have found loophole’s in Arum’s ongoing stance.

Addressing the issue, the Matchroom kingpin added, “If that fight goes into the marketplace, that’s because of the fault of Bob Arum, not because of the fault of me. And you know, ultimately, this is not something that just popped up in the last couple of weeks.

This has been around in boxing for 50 plus years. So, Bob Arum knows the script and for Bob Arum to come out and say all the bids that might not affect the Fury and Joshua fight, well that’s just terrible for boxing.”

That said, Teofimo Lopez could have fought WBC champion, Devin Haney, in a lightweight title unification fight. But, Kambosos Jr seems to have advanced in the race and would replace Haney from the mix. However, the current differences between Hearn and Arum can have an adverse effect on the fight.

Not only that, but it can also affect the heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. So, boxing politics can once again hamper two super fights, until the promoters come under terms and find a common ground that’s fruitful for both sides.

Do you think Eddie Hearn’s and Bob Arum‘s differences could hamper the upcoming plans?
