Canelo Alvarez is just one more belt away from being the undisputed super middleweight champion. While Caleb Plant’s IBF strap appears to be his goal at 168 lbs, the unification matchup is likely to go down within a few months.

Matchroom Kingpin Eddie Hearn has already begun working for the fight and has come up with a potential date. That said, Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb ‘Sweethands’ Plant is still far from receiving official confirmation.

In a chat with FightHype.com, Eddie Hearn said, “Yeah, September the 11 is like the date. We got the 11 and the 18. I believe that Mexican Independence day is on a Wednesday. So, it’s another one like sinking tomorrow.”
