His Excellency Turki Alalshikh continues to expand his web of boxing promotions and promoters. The latest benefactor of his growing boxing footprint is Boxxer and its founder, Ben Shalom. The British promotion has many talented boxers under its management but the fans have cast doubts about the deal’s implications on the old ties with the duo of Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren as the British promotional powerhouses are not on very good terms with Shalom.
Notably, Boxxer and Riyadh Season announced their partnership with the latter signing up as the promoter of the coming Adam Azim vs. Ohara Davies bill on October 19. What’s more? The official announcement also details that Riyadh Season will continue to be a sponsor of Boxxer’s all-coming events, irrespective of their location. This has certainly delighted Shalom, who has taken the boxing world by storm in a short time.

The Saudi Royal turned to his social media handles and announced the deal. He wrote, “#RiyadhSeason teams up with BOXXER for an exciting new partnership 🎉. The collaboration kicks off with the “High Voltage” event in London this Saturday, featuring rising stars Adam Azim and Ohara Davies. Get ready for electrifying fight nights across the UK, Ireland, and beyond, as Riyadh Season takes boxing to the next level🥊✨”

Regarding the development, Shalom then commented, “We are honoured to partner with Riyadh Season and support His Excellency Turki Alalshikh’s vision for boxing… There’s much more to come from BOXXER and Riyadh Season and we look forward to seeing what the future holds.” So, a tie-up with Boxxer makes sense for HE Turki Alalshikh, as it could also open doors for future mega-fights. However, it might not turn well for Hearn and Warren, who the fans believe might have a bumpy road ahead.

One fan pointed out how a ‘young’ Shalom had smoked Hearn and Warren. They declared, “😂😂😂😂 frank Warren and Eddie hearn getting smoked by young Ben 😂.” Notably, Boxxer has one of the biggest deals with Sky Sports in Europe and rapidly expanded its outreach in the non-English speaking market.

A user had a similar remark about the Queensberry and Matchroom Boxing lynchpins. They noted, “Frank and Eddie are crying.” Hearn and Shalom had sparks of rivalry since the latter claimed that Hearn didn’t want to work with Boxxer and also labeled him a hard promoter to work with. It all culminated with Hearn wanting to “knock” Shalom out after an argument between them.
Someone questioned the credentials of Davies. They asked, “How is ohara davies a rising star 🤣.” Davies, 32, is coming off a knockout loss to Ismael Barroso and has already expressed his intent not to fight long. A loss against Azim could effectively curtail his career.
A comment hilariously asked Hearn and Warren to dig a hole in the desert for Shalon. The comment read, “@eddiehearn you and Frank need to dig a hole in the dessert for Ben 😂😂😂.” Warren and Shalom are currently at loggerheads over allegations of Fabio Wardley using custom gloves which resulted in a broken jaw for Frazer Clarke. Warren has labeled Shalom as “inspector clueless” over the accusations leveled against Wardley’s win against Clark.

Lastly, a fan demanded that Alalshikh put an end to the multiple belts system. They urged, “Now get rid of all these belts Turk.” Recently, the IBF ordered Artur Beterbiev to face his IBF mandatory. It then dashed all hopes for a rematch with Dmitry Bivol. Therefore, an alternative could be to stage a super tournament to crown a champion.
