Misfits Boxing and DAZN’s X Series 004 had British YouTuber KSI fighting FaZe Clan member Brazilian Thomas “Temperrr” Oliveira, aka FaZe Temperrr, in the main event. Apart from the co-main bout between Slim Albaher and Tom Zanetti, there were five undercard events. The tournament grabbed headlines. While KSI’s victory topped the list, the news of TikToker Salt Papi knocking down Josh Brueckner by the second round reached every nook and corner.

Come February 24, the England-born social media personality of Filipino ancestry will turn twenty-nine. His actual name is Busta Breezie. Starting in January 2021, he became a popular figure on the video-sharing platform TikTok. Initially, he was known for making humorous videos. But later, he began sharing his foray into boxing and pursuing a healthy lifestyle. Often describing himself as “a chubby young boy,” he seems pleased with his accomplishments thus far.

And that’s what he did yesterday! Salt Papi shared an old video wherein he is sparring. More than 170k viewers saw the forty-second clip, which received 22 retweets in turn.

Salt Papi’s road to success; His Tribute to the support of family and mentors

Papi commented, “This is me preparing for Halal ham last year. Look how sh*t I was.” It seems he was referring to the exhibition bout he had with another social media celebrity Hamad Khan, aka “Halal Ham.” The two met at London’s SSE Arena on March 3 last year. Papi won the fight unanimously.

Following this, he expressed gratitude to all who had contributed to his development along the way, saying, “Thanks to my coach, my dad, brothers and sparring partners for helping me get better.”

Instantly, fans and followers flocked to the comments section to respond to his remarks.

Fans react to Salt Papi’s Tweet

@thelaserglaser, amazed with Papi’s progress, said that the TikToker absorbed a lot of punishment yet ultimately emerged stronger. And he suggested that sparring sessions with other skillful boxers should continue.

@shahroonk1 commended Papi for having separated himself so far from the crowd.

@msn0910, a bit heedful, noted that Papi only shares information he deems necessary for everyone to know. As a result, a few, taking the bait, might feel that they can beat Papi.

@n9ne_x told Papi not to try pulling the wool over the viewers’ eyes. Instead, he claimed to know that the latter honed his boxing skills as an amateur in the Philippines, probably learning from Manny Pacquiao!

@n9ne_x’s point comes in the wake of reports which cropped up last year that Salt Papi won a national-level title in the Philippines and had nearly a hundred unrecorded amateur fights.

@bozoboyy emphasizing the importance of sparring, said that it is the key that gives a boxer the confidence and the experience needed to succeed in the ring.

@bobbyacky91, without a doubt, considered Papi among the top boxers on the crossover-social influencer circuit.

@GerWillzLFC seemed a bit critical. Sans any intentions of disrespect, he mentioned that the TikToker hasn’t faced a good boxer so far. According to him, any reasonably experienced fighter could knock him down.

Salt Papi’s boxing record so far stands at 3-0. Visibly impressed with his performance, many opine that Salt Papi should consider becoming a pro boxer. Else he should fight against more experienced. Interestingly, Floyd Mayweather Jr.‘s team reportedly reached out to Salt Papi to discuss the possibility of a bout with the former during his UK tour.
