Former world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, has undoubtedly had a roller coaster of a life. And, ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ is a treasure trove of stories based on his life experiences. In fact, he recently opened up about the time the former president of Cuba, Fidel Castro, saved him from trouble.

Tyson was hosting his ‘Hotboxin with Mike Tyson‘ podcast. Moreover, rapper DaBaby was present as a guest for the episode. In conversation, Tyson mentioned that he used to lose control after getting intoxicated or high. And would end up losing his valuables.

He later went on to narrate an incident from his time in Cuba. Tyson said, “Listen to this sh*t right. I’m in Jamaica for a while with some friends. Then I leave Jamaica and go to Cuba. I’m in Cuba. This is crazy, I get high, I’m fighting in the hallway.”

Tyson mentioned that his antics left people in America worried about his safety in Cuba.

However, he revealed that Castro came to his rescue. Tyson said, “Fidel Castro said, leave him alone. He’s just relaxing and having fun. So don’t talk to him, don’t touch him.”

Tyson mentioned that he was elated to hear about the same from the cashier at the hotel he was in. And he continued to do what he wanted.

What did Mike Tyson do in Cuba?

Mike Tyson was due to face heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis in 2002 when he made a trip to Cuba. And this in turn spiraled into an altercation in his Havana hotel lobby.

Tyson was irritated to see reporters in the lobby, which led to him losing control. Talking about the same, a reporter said, “He just went crazy. I was planning to ask him for an interview, but he never let me speak.”

He threw Christmas decorations at them. And also hit one of the reporters. However, there were no reports of injuries, arrests, or serious damage after the incident.
