Gervonta Davis is arguably one of the biggest draws and the face of the boxing at the moment. With an undefeated record of 30 straight victories, surely, everyone wants to dethrone the Baltimore native. One of the fighters who has constantly called out Tank is the 25-year-old Olympic Silver Medalist Keyshawn Davis. Touted as the next face of boxing, Davis has been involved in a verbal spat with Tank Davis recently, with posts and counterposts going both ways.

Despite having secured his first WBO title fight against Denys Berinchyk at MSG Theater in New York in February, ‘The Businessman’ has kept Tank as his ultimate goal. The duo has been involved in several online spats. However, it looks like the Norfolk, Virginia native has finally given up his obsession with the WBA lightweight champion and put down his condition for their eventual match.

In a conversation with FightHype, Keyshawn Davis claimed that only Tank can make this fight happen. No matter how hard the 25-year-old tries, the final call remains with the Baltimore native. He still wants to fight Gervonta Davis and become the top star at 135 lbs, but sadly, he admitted he does not have the star power yet.

“I want to clarify things like, only reason why I want the Tank fight is because he the top dog. If anybody else was the top dog then I’d be wanting in that fight. At the end of the day if Tank don’t want to fight he’s not going to fight. We’re not going to fight, the ball is not in my court. If we fight it’s going to be because that he sent us a contract. I’m not in a position to send this man a contract,” confessed the 12-0 boxer.

Furthermore, it looks like he is getting frustrated by the regular call-outs on social media which leads to nothing. “So if he wants to fight he gonna send me a contract. If he don’t want to fight, don’t mention me on Twitter, don’t be calling me no b-word, don’t say you gonna smack me when you see me all that type of s**t. Just leave all that s*t,” declared Keyshawn Davis.

Davis thinks that as a fighter, he wants to refrain from such antics and only wants to focus on fighting. No matter how personal Gervonta Davis gets online, “I’m not taking this s**t personally anyways. I just feel like if we going to fight bro let’s make it happen, bro, like everybody want to see it,” said ‘The Businessman.’

It also looks like with a title fight looming over his head, the 25-year-old has found a way to rule 135 lbs even without the Tank fight.

Gervonta Davis does not matter anymore

Keyshawn Davis further added“If we not gonna fight you know I’m good with that too. I got my own lane. I’m achieving like. I’m building my own name up without people that have a name for them, so just because I’m just entertaining.”

This statement is in complete contrast to the 25-year-old’s previous callouts where he was desperately chasing Gervonta Davis or Vasyl Lomachenko. It sounds like a new person who isn’t interested in only fighting Gervonta Davis. “You know, I’m just out here not just depending on anybody to fight me, so I can be the next face of anything,” declared Keyshawn Davis boldly.

Despite the latest statement a fight between the Davis duo will be highly entertaining. What do you think about the potential showdown between Gervonta Davis and Keyshawn Davis? Let us know your thoughts down below.
