John Ryder will face the reigning Super-Middle Undisputed champion, Canelo Alvarez, in the Mexican town of Guadalajara, which marks the homecoming of the 32-year-old Mexican. Ryder is preparing to get his hands on the Undisputed title and pull off an upset at the sport. But, ahead of their clash on May 6, Ryder has caused a stir among the fans by making an appearance with a controversial figure in the sport at the time. Ryder was seen training with Conor Benn, who failed his drug test and has faced numerous setbacks since then.

Benn was seen training with Ryder ahead of the Alvarez fight in the recent training video uploaded on YouTube by Matchroom Boxing. And the video has left the fans angered and displeased.

The training video encapsulates Ryder’s mentality, with less than a week left for the fight. In the video, Ryder says, “This is the time I’ve dreamed about. I’ve worked hard and kept my head down. I just gotta embrace it. Noone’s ever given up on me. And I’ve never given up on myself.”

But, despite the motivating mentality Ryder inflicted in the video, that is not the only thing that caught the attention of the fans. Conor Benn was an integral part of the whole training video. And the two can be seen training with each other. This comes at a time of Benn’s suspension by UKAD, as he was not able to prove his innocence to them.

In the video, Benn says, “I’ve come out here done some sparring today. It’s nice for changes. Seem to change the environment. “ Ryder is leaving no stone unturned to prepare for one of the best pound-for-pound boxers ever to tighten their gloves. And even though he is the underdog going into this fight. He will be looking forward to making a statement when he steps inside the ring. Conor Benn’s appearance caused a stir among fans. And they did not hesitate to share their reactions.

One fan joked and said that Ryder should keep his distance from Benn. He commented, “Don’t let Benn too close to Ryder, cross contamination is a real thing you know, jk.”

One fan believes that Ryder is just fighting Alvarez for the payday. He wrote, “Can see in ryders body language that his just here for a payday.”
