Mike Tyson has achieved many feats, being the Youngest Heavyweight champion, and the first Heavyweight fighter to hold three boxing belts- WBC, IBF, and WBA at the same time. Moreover, Tyson also won his first 19 fights by knockout, and 12 of them were over in just the first rounds. But, one of the most memorable moments of his career was Tyson’s comeback after facing one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. In the 38th fight of his career, Tyson was knocked out by Buster Douglas. This created an uproar, but ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ didn’t let this loss stain his legacy.
Just after four months in the same year, he went against Henry Tillman and re-established his reign by handing over a first-round knockout. So, Tyson firmly believes that one can never take the loss too seriously in boxing, otherwise it’ll be way harder to get back on the feet again. For that reason, Tyson gave similar advice to Anthony Joshua after his second loss against Oleksandr Usyk. Even recently, Mike spoke about ego and how it impacts us.

So in one such conversation, he spoke about how in MMA training, they don’t usually get that serious in hitting. However, during the wrestling and grappling sessions, things are usually different.
He said, “In like the wrestling grappling department, you’re always gonna go as hard as you can go.” Then he talks about if he’s in a sparring session and he gets put down during the training. Masvidal stated that it’s important to let go of ego at such moments so that “there’s no injury“. Well to this, Mike Tyson nodded in agreement and stated that it’s the same thing in boxing as well.

Don’t get so all f**ked up and brain dead.” According to him, there’s no use in being all brave and gutsy when you can’t even fight the next day.
