Ronda Rousey, widely regarded as the greatest female fighter of all time, has always been on the receiving end of criticism from Laila Ali. The former undefeated middleweight champion and daughter of heavyweight GOAT, Muhammad Ali, was never a big fan of the UFC Hall of Famer. She believes that Rousey is the product of promotion and got nothing that could make her the best, like her father.

Following Rousey’s first epic loss to Holly Holm in 2015, the 44-year-old had taken continuous shots. Exposing Rousey, she stated, “In order to be the best in the world, you definitely don’t EVER get beat up like that in your prime, period.”

After over a year away from the limelight, Rousey returned to the octagon and faced Amanda Nunes and lost by a first-round TKO. Ali, who held titles in two weight classes, again got an opportunity to expose Rousey. Per expectations, she again berated Rousey and got offended by the people who compared Rousey with Muhammad Ali.

In an interview with International Business Times, she said, “I’ve heard people say, ‘Well, Muhammad Ali lost, he’s still great. First of all, Muhammad Ali never lost like that. He never got in there and was made to look like a rag doll. And when he did lose, it was pretty much after he had been off for three years. He was in his prime, had to take time off, came back, fought the best, then he came back and had rematches against the best, so please don’t ever compare her to my father.”

When the rivalry between Ali and Rousey came into the limelight, it led to talks of a potential clash between the duo.

She has done it before. After winning the Bronze at Judo in the Olympics, she turned into a professional MMA fighter. Not only did she competed in it but also won titles. Her UFC winning streak had been epic. It was later in 2015 and 2016, her stars began to dim.
