Common opponent and former welterweight champion Shawn Porter spoke to FoxSports and gave some interesting insights. Porter has a notable win over Garcia while dropping a split decision loss against Errol Spence Jr. back in September 2019.

“I think this is the first fight that he is an underdog getting into it. It’s important for him to start first. He starts fast. He is fast, gets off to a fast start. Doesn’t allow Errol Spence to get comfortable, you know, he will have some success. Be busy, stay on him all night. Don’t allow him to breath, don’t allow him to get comfortable, and then I think the number three and the most important is, land that no-look left hook.”

Porter revealed that the key would be constant pressure. While Spence Jr. is the favorite going into the bout, there’s a reason to believe that Garcia could create an upset this weekend inside AT&T. The former WBC welterweight champion of the world boasts an incredible record of 36-2. Having lost against credible opponents in the forms of Shawn Porter and Keith Thurman, Garcia is as tough as it gets.
