No matter how hard he tries, Ryan Garcia can never stay away from controversies. He stays busy outside the ring by involving himself in various troublesome activities. The Victorville native is serving a one-year ban after testing positive for doping during his fight against Devin Haney.
However, that was not the only controversial thing that Garcia got involved in this year. A month after his fight against Haney, ‘The Flash’ stole the headline when he posted several pictures with Donald Trump stating that he would be the new president of the USA. His prediction was right as Trump has already obtained the required 270 electoral votes to surpass his competition, ensuring his second presidential run.
This enormous victory resulted in the 26-year-old posting another picture with Trump with the caption, “No better choice 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 #Trump2024.” However, it looks like the move severely backfired as the boxer lost an insane amount of followers following that post. The numbers might shock you.

Ryan Garcia’s rapid number decline
While talking to FightHype, the interviewer asked Garcia if he had received an invitation to the White House. The 26-year-old boxer stated that he had never been inside the White House and met Donald Trump at the Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. He added, “If we get that invite I’m going to be inviting you guys,” with a playful smile on his face.

The conversation then shifted to the time when ‘KingRy’ showed his support for Trump and how people ridiculed him for that. But the situation has changed and “now it’s cool,” after the 78-year-old emerged victorious once again.
Ryan Garcia then revealed the extent of the backlash he received in the picture he posted on the vote counting day. He stated, “Actually you know when I posted like the day of the election I lost like over like I don’t know it got to be like 60,000 followers.”
It is a shocking number and clearly, Garcia became one of the most hated men just for sharing his political opinions. Something that even hurt the boxer, as he revealed later.

Garcia hurt by the fans
The Victorville native stated that he could never understand how people let personal and political feelings collide. “People really they got strong feelings about politics. I don’t,” said Ryan Garcia, stating that he won’t judge anyone based on their political opinion.
He further added that even though you are against Donald Trump, he won’t start hating you and question you on your political beliefs. “It’s like you do whatever you want to do and it shouldn’t really affect your opinion of a person,” stated Garcia with a disappointing look on his face.

This is not the first time that Garcia has endorsed Donald Trump and he is not the only boxer who supported Trump during this presidential run. A day before the election, Jake Paul posted an 18-minute-long video supporting the US president. The Problem Child started his message, “I am nervous, scared to make this video” as it can have a lasting impact on his career and life. It can lead to more accusations and can impact his career massively. He was scared of the same thing that Ryan Garcia was talking about.
