April 22 proved fateful to Ryan Garcia. He will now have to come back with force to regain the lost name and position in boxing. The knockout loss to Gervonta Davis dealt a severe blow to the hitherto unbeaten boxer. According to a few sources, the young fighter has decided to split up with trainer Joe Goossen, who joined him last year during the fight against Emmanuel Tagoe.
According to ESPN, there’s no official confirmation about his new trainer. But reports are coming that he has been sending feelers to his former team – ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Eddy Reynoso to take him back. Ryan Garcia joined the famed Reynoso stable that trained several world champions, including Alvarez, in 2018. Under the latter’s guidance, he won five bouts and received the vacant WBC (Interim) Lightweight title.
Today, Salvador Rodrigues, ESPN’s sports journalist, shared the update through the Twitter handle @ChavaESPN. it read, “Me dicen que el equipo de @RyanGarcia se ha puesto en contacto con @CANELOTEAM para ver si puede volver a entrenarle. No hay prisa por cierto……” It roughly translates to, “They tell me that @RyanGarcia ‘s team has contacted @CANELOTEAM to see if they can train him again. No rush, by the way…“

Fans react as they hear Ryan Garcia getting together with former trainer Eddy Reynoso
User Sam Hunter believes it would be better for Ryan Garcia to contact eminent trainer Robert Garcia. Since his relations with ‘Canelo’ and Eddy Reynoso ended resentfully, it might not bode well if he goes back again and requests their assistance.
Should be going with a trainer that will actually work with him like Robert Garcia. Going back to the attitude of Team Canelo doesn't sound good for his mental health.

User Marcus also believes returning to Reynoso might not be a great idea. In his opinion, Garcia should check out with either Joel Diaz or Erik Morales.
If they say no I would like to see him with Joel Diaz or Erik Morales

The following user also rates it an intelligent step and wishes that the Reynoso camp accept him. The latter is fully aware of his strengths and weaknesses. It will do Garcia better if he pays attention to their training.
Good move, i hope they take him back 🙏🏼. Eddy knows how to work with Ryan’s style, just hope Ryan listens this time.

According to the user Edmundo Perez, it would be an excellent step for Ryan Garcia. He is already quite popular in the Mexican-American community. So if he joins ‘Canel’ Alvarez, the face of boxing, his career would greatly profit.
Es la mejor decisión, Ryan Garcia ya conecto con parte del público Mexico americano, estar a lado de la cara del boxeo es lo mejor para su carrera en todos los sentidos

Be it a rematch with Davis or another big clash with Devin Haney, Garcia must decide who will train him quickly. Then, the ghosts of the loss in T Mobile Arena must be put to rest. ‘KingRy’ is an excellent boxer who can do wonders in the ring if he puts his mind to it. The loss to Davis might have dented his record. However, he remains one of boxing’s big crowd-pullers.
