There has been only one goal for Dmitry Bivol after the Russian boxer defeated Canelo Alvarez at 175 lbs in May 2022. That was to be an undisputed champion in the sport. For the same reason, Bivol wanted to rematch Canelo at 168 lbs with the Mexican boxer’s belts on the line. But, since Canelo decided to rematch Bivol only at 168 lbs, the current IBO and WBA Light-Heavyweight champion made up his mind to face Artur Beterbiev for the undisputed Light-Heavyweight title.

Meanwhile, after his victory over Callum Smith on January 13th, Beterbiev, the IBF, WBC, and WBO Light-Heavyweight champion, said he wanted a fourth belt, i.e. the undisputed title. “It would mean in this category I have done work,” the 39-year-old had said.

On that note, later in January this year, Dan Rafael took to X and informed the boxing world that although the fight was not signed, Bivol vs. Beterbiev had been planned for June 1. As expected, fans were excited to see the fight! On the other hand, both Bivol, 22-0-0, and Beterbiev, 20-0-0, are undefeated in the sport.

Additionally, while Bivol has won 11 of his fights via knockouts, Beterbiev has won 100% of his fights via KO in the ring. Therefore, when the two will enter the ring, fans shall expect nothing but fireworks. In this context, Bivol has been sharpening his moves ahead of the potential clash on June 1 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In his latest training video, the Russian boxer displayed quick footwork and the ability to case his target accurately. Maintaining the orthodox stance, the 33-year-old practiced basic punches as beautifully as he could. Likewise, several people reacted positively to it. Some even predicted the potential outcome of Bivol vs. Beterbiev!
