Boxing fans around the world were eagerly awaiting the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk fight with all four belts on the line. However, IBF has now declared that Usyk meet the mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic. Therefore, the Fury vs. Usyk undisputed fight would not happen and the two would have to wait some more time to meet. According to the news, Usyk and ‘The Gypsy King’ were in negotiations to fight either in February or March 2023.

Although there was an option for Usyk’s team to request the IBF for a delay so that the Ukrainian could first face Fury, Eddie Hearn, the co-promoter of Hrgovic, requested immediate purse bids. With that now on Usyk’s way, it is difficult for the Ukrainian to face Fury before the mandatory Hrgovic.
