Unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. and WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford were set to face in an undisputed welterweight title bout in November. The two have been touted as the best boxers in the division and were finally ready to compete in the ring. However, it has been reported that the fight might be in jeopardy because of a lingering dispute regarding the contract.

According to ESPN, Crawford wants transparency related to event expenses since his contract contains no guaranteed purse. Although the WBO champ will earn a percentage of the net revenue, he wants the ability to approve expenses. Crawford became a free agent after parting ways with Top Rank while Spence fights under Man Down Promotions.
Moreover, ESPN’s Mike Coppinger revealed if the fight took place it won’t be in November but in December or even January.
The Errol Spence-Terence Crawford undisputed welterweight championship fight is in jeopardy due to lingering contract issues, sources tell ESPN, and if the fight does take place, it won’t be Nov. 19. This certainly is very disappointing for fans who have long awaited a match between the two. Upon hearing this news, they were also quick to express their disappointment as they reacted to the news.
Fans react to Errol Spence vs Terence Crawford contract issue
One fan called out EPSN, claiming that they had already reported the fight was confirmed and were now making excuses.
“Lingering contract issues”? But I thought y’all reported that they agreed..? I thought Bud agreeed to everything and signed..? 💀💀😂

Another fan stated that boxing should be run under one promotion to prevent these shenanigans.
This is why boxing sucks… it needs to be under 1 organizations

Moreover, one fan also claimed that this part of boxing ‘bored’ him as the best possible fights never get made.
This is the part of boxing that bored me… the most “in demand” fights never get to happen… Still expecting new excuses on why Fury – AJ isn’t going to happen too.

Senior writer of Sports Illustrated Chris Mannix also weighed in on this issue. He stated that it would be a ‘disaster’ if this fight didn’t get booked.
It would be an unmitigated disaster — for Crawford, for Spence, for boxing — if this fight doesn’t get made. https://t.co/PkhnFpF6cb

One fan even went as far as stating that both fighters should be removed from the p4p rankings.
At this point neither should be considered p4p when there's another top guy who claims they p4p in their respective division

However, one fan stated that neither fighter was ducking, and this is just purely based on business. He claimed that the PBC had the leverage and will use it to its advantage.
This isn’t a duck. This is business. And since PBC has all of the leverage they are dictating what they will/won’t do. It’s lazy reporting to assume otherwise. Max knows better than this. He just wants to take a cheap shot at Haymon since he’s aligned with ESPN

Lastly, one fan claimed that the two need to fight each other or it might mark the end of their careers.
To me both careers are basically over if they don't fight eachother I literally don't care who else they fight

Crawford is ranked as ESPN’s No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer but hasn’t faced anyone for over a year. Spence, on the other hand, competed in April securing a victory over Yordenis Ugas. However, as is the case with boxing, super-fights like these usually take a long time to
book due to promotional as well as financial issues.Do you think the fight will take place? Let us know in the comments.
