The enthralling heavyweight collision between Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin will take place this weekend. The duo will engage in a sheer 12-round tussle at Europa Point Sports Complex in Gibraltar. But do we know anything about Gibraltar?

Gibraltar is a British overseas territory located in Europe. It is a hub for the British military and naval base that guards the Strait of Gibraltar, the only entrance to the Mediterranean sea from the Atlantic ocean.

Due to COVID-19, the first contest between Povetkin and Whyte took place behind closed doors in August 2020 at Matchroom’s fight camp in Brentwood. Hence, their promotions wanted to stage this rematch at a place where there was minimal COVID-19 impact.

And that’s how they came up to the conclusion to settle this rematch at Gibraltar.

Compared to the UK, Gibraltar is considerably out of the global pandemic’s clutches. That said, none of the locations seemed exuberant enough more than this to stage a cosmic fight between Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin.

The hard-hitting heavyweights entertained fans with their last outing too. The fight began on a great note for the Brit Whyte as he knocked the ‘Russian Vityaz’ down twice in the fight. Unfortunately, he couldn’t continue his momentum and succumbed to the latter’s vicious uppercut in round 5 of the bout.

But Dillian Whyte has vast skill sets under his wing to overpower Povetkin in this rematch. He is confident of putting on an enthralling show for his fans and getting his hand raised.
