25-year-old Tommy Fury, the younger brother of former world champion Tyson Fury, has seemingly canceled his boxing match against UFC veteran Darren Till. The duo was slated to lock horns in January at Manchester’s Co-op Live. In the meantime, Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions is stirring up drama on social media with one question.
MVP asked whether Fury could have pulled out of the fight with Till to fight ‘The Problem Child,’ but there’s no evidence of the same. You see, the thing is, during a press conference on November 19, the MMA fighter openly threatened to kick Fury’s head off if the fight didn’t go his way. Fury later cited this threat as the reason for canceling the bout.

“I can’t believe I’m writing this but I am now not fighting Darren Till on 18 January 2025,” Fury announced on Instagram yesterday. “For the one simple reason being that Darren has stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is losing the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics.”
Tommy further added that he is a professional boxer and has been out of the ring for quite a while, and he wants to make his comeback to the ring with “a great BOXING fight for the fans.” Meanwhile, Misfits Boxing, the promotion responsible for organizing the bout, has remained silent on the matter, as of the time of writing.
In response to Fury’s last-minute cancelation of the fight, Till shared a couple of videos on social media filled with profanity. “I said I’d kick him in the head at the press conference as a mental warfare tactic and since then I haven’t said anything else,” Till confessed. “I’ve been hard at work boxing for two years, I haven’t thrown a kick in two years, I threw one kick on a video as a mental warfare tactic.”

He added that he would never throw a kick in a boxing match, which is following the rules of boxing, stating, “I stick to rules, I have always abided by the rules throughout my whole career.” Regardless, both fighters have claimed that they are now looking for better opponents to replace each other, with Till claiming he is still the main event for the January 18th card.
After the debacle, Most Valuable Promotions took on Instagram to question whether Fury had dropped out of the fight to face Jake Paul while sharing a . They also included a comment Paul had made previously. “I offered him $8 million and he & his daddy turned it down. They said let’s do a video game. He’s scared. I won,” Paul had written on Instagram previously.
Seeing this, fans quickly took to the comment section to share their thoughts.
Fans cheer for Jake Paul vs. Fury 2
Paul and Fury clashed in February last year, with Fury emerging victorious. However, Jake Paul had managed to send the ‘legitimate boxer’ crashing onto the canvas in the final round of the fight. So, this user expressed his excitement about watching a rematch between the boxers to settle the debate. “Would love to see this rematch ngl,” the user wrote. As it turns out, Fury has, at least, claimed that he wants to have a rematch with Paul, but is yet to take a step towards making it happen.
Meanwhile, the next user revealed that they are hoping that MVP’s question turns out to be true. “Let’s hope so 🤞🏼,” the user commented. While it’s possible on some level that the fight happens, most likely Fury would turn up against some other opponent.

The next user took digs at Jake Paul, suggesting Fury won their initial fight fair and square. “Bro… Tommy outboxed you the ENTIRE FIGHT. Tommy won that fight fair and square. We ALL SAW IT 👀,” the user claimed. However, Fury, who claims to be a traditional boxer, who is climbing the ladder in the sport, getting dropped by an ‘influencer boxer’ doesn’t exactly look good.
Someone else shared their opinion on why Fury may have dropped out of the fight, instead of his desire to bank $8 million by fighting Paul. “He pulled out because he’s shook to fight Darren till lol,” the user claimed. Notably, it’s not unusual to say wild things during press conferences, but a fighter pulling out because of it is a rarity. As of right now, it does look as if Fury didn’t want to risk losing to Till.

Another user threw shade at MVP for asking the fans, when they are Paul’s promoter and would know if Fury did pull out to fight Paul. “Bro asking us, it’s YOUR promotion that he would fight on😭🙏,” the user commented. Paul has several challenges on his hands at the moment, but currently, it’s unclear who he will fight next.
That said, it appears Most Valuable Promotions wants to keep the potential Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury hype train going. However, there’s no guarantee that this fight will actually come to fruition. Do you think Tommy Fury dropped out of the Till fight to face Jake Paul?
