YouTuber turned boxer, Jake Paul is back to set fire to the boxing ring. And will be facing longtime bête noire, Tommy Fury. Moreover, this is a highly anticipated fight for both the sports fraternity and fans alike. In fact, according to many, it will even put to rest the long-drawn, and borderline unnecessary, debate about Paul fighting a ‘real boxer’. However, it is worth speculating if Paul has doubts about the fight. As he was seen talking about backing out of the fight.
Paul is currently scheduled to fight Fury at the Diriyah Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on February 26, 2023.
Meanwhile, Top Rank Real-Time shared a few backstage snippets from Paul and his crew, as they arrived in Saudi. Paul notably seemed a bit tensed as fight week approached. And was heard saying, “I was actually thinking of going home. You know just coz he’s pulled out of the fight so many times. So I think it’s my turn to pull out of the fight. I’m joking. Uh, this is crazy. I’m excited.”

Paul, in fact, also seemed surprised by the fact that the fight was actually going to take place. Which, in turn, was not surprising as Fury had previously pulled out of the fight twice, in 2021 and 2022. Paul further added, “It’s finally happening. Fight week here we come.”
It sure looks like Paul is excited to finally test his mettle against his long-time nemesis.
Jake Paul never believed in the Tommy Fury fight
Paul was often uncertain about his fight with Fury potentially taking place. Especially because of the fact that Fury pulled out of the fight multiple times. Ahead of his fight against Anderson Silva in 2022, he opened up about being skeptical about the Fury fight. Paul mentioned, “I’m still skeptical about it. My brother tells me every day. And my dad calls me every day damn near and is like, ‘Don’t give that f*cker another chance. So I don’t know. We might not.”
