Devin Haney Released on $35,000 Bail After Concealed Weapon Found In His Car Gets Him Arrested

On account of possessing a “semi-automatic gun“, the current undisputed lightweight champion of the world, Devin Haney, was arrested this Thursday morning. Reportedly, the unbeaten champion was in Los Angeles at the time of this incident. After the car in which Haney was traveling made an “unsafe lane change” and failed to obey and use the turn signal, on-duty police officers stopped it.

As per the reports, Haney was not driving but was the individual who revealed the concealed weapon’s presence to the police. Although both rejected the gun’s ownership, the police arrested Haney since the car was registered to the 30-0 boxer. As reported by TMZ, they later released Haney on $35,000 bail.

Father of Devin Haney comments on “misunderstanding” and “armed licensed security”

After his arrest, Devin Haney’s father, Bill Haney, spoke to ESPN. As per the statements by Bill Haney, it was only a “misunderstanding” that occurred between the police and Haney. While Devin Haney did not initially claim ownership of the gun, his father said, “It’s unfortunate that he was arrested with his armed licensed security, and I’m confident things are going to be worked out.” “It’s a misunderstanding that will be solved when Devin goes to court,” he added. As per the updates, the boxer now has a hearing on August 3 in Los Angeles.
