WBC lightweight titlist Devin Haney hasn’t really received the fights which he had been calling out for. Still fresh from a win over Jorge Linares, ‘The Dream’ had actually wanted to fight bigger opponents. However, without a response from the other end, Haney had to defend his belt against the Venezuelan rival.
He had targeted several A-listers from the 135 lbs division, namely Vasyl Lomachenko, Teofimo Lopez, and Ryan Garcia. But the current scenario has urged the WBC titleholder to tag himself as the “most avoided fighter”. He took to social media and lashed out at all his contemporaries.
Devin Haney wrote, “I’m the most avoided fighter in the boxing today”

After an unbeaten run of 26-0, Haney deserves to fight for a unification bout. But the lightweight champions have shown very little interest in facing him. However, his mandatory contender Joseph Diaz might fill that void. When Ryan Garcia grabbed the WBC Interim title in January, he avoided to matchup against ‘The Dream’.
However, current WBC Interim titlist Joseph Diaz has verbally agreed to mandate his spot and shoot for the world title. 32-1-1 as a pro, ‘JoJo’ is now a legitimate threat for the other boxers on the 135 lbs roster. After vanquishing Javier Fortuna in July, Diaz can bag the biggest payday of his career against Devin Haney along with a chance at gold.

Besides, Haney and Diaz have already begun feuding on social media. As they seem to infuse bad-blood into their potential fight, both the champions can bless the lightweight division with an epic contest.
Devin Haney vs Joseph Diaz- Social Media To The Ring
28-year-old southpaw Joseph Diaz began taking shots at Devin Haney by claiming that he had never received a fight contract. However, it didn’t sit well with ‘The Dream’. Devin Haney mocked Diaz about having him another mandatory fight before getting the world title shot.
For those of y’all saying I’m ducking Haney I’m just sticking 🖕 at ya. I haven’t received no offer nor contract. The fuck 😂

Meanwhile, it sparked a few more tweets from both sides, which has already intensified their current relationship. As both the fighters have had their latest appearances a few months back, they might look for another scrap this year. So, it makes sense to pose them against each other. Nevertheless, the 135 lbs division has several more names on board, which can rightly replace any of the names from the mix.
