In many ways, the April 20 Ryan Garcia–Devin Haney fight seems to have survived another scare. ‘KingRy’s disturbing social media posts captivated almost everyone in the boxing world with concern. The bout found its footing early in February after facing an initial collapse. Now that the young Californian boxer has found some reason, fans can look forward to a dazzling boxing display at the Barclay Center next month.
Both the boxers presumably appear busy with their training camps. At the Los Angeles-based Church Hill Boxing gym, Devin Haney spoke at length about the upcoming fight. He is seemingly confident about his strengths. However, the WBC light welterweight champion also believes there are certain afflictions that render his opponent vulnerable. Exploiting those might as well allow him to gobble up the mouthwatering rewards.

It seems like Team Haney is preparing itself for the upcoming press conference. In the meantime, with his level-headed demeanor, Devin Haney shared that he would win the April 20 fight. When compared to Ryan Garcia, he stands out as a better boxer. The duo have reportedly duked it out in the ring six times as amateurs, with both splitting the victories equally. But ‘The Dream’ believes Garcia has yet to come out of the shadows of those days.
“I know I’m going to win this fight cuz I’m the better fighter. I’m Ryan Garcia has been the same since the amateurs,” said Devin Haney. However, he, on the other hand, kept on gaining in terms of experience, becoming a better fighter both physically and mentally. Hence, ‘KingRy’ won’t be able to lift a finger at him when the time comes: “I got much better, much more experienced; the better fighter mentally physically, Ryan can’t f*ck with me.”
According to the light welterweight champion, apart from lacking fortitude, Ryan Garcia still lags behind when it boils down to basics such as defense and footwork. He said, “Ryan weaknesses is his heart, his defense his feet, there nothing there’s nothing that he can do better than me; I’m the better overall fighter.”
Even during the last presser, slamming ‘KingRy’, Haney claimed that he would end up the winner. Also, the DAZN prize money will be his to take home.
He said, “Listen, we’ve seen Ryan quit before; we we we we seen him take a knee before and quit, and uh, on April 20th, it won’t be no different. DAZN, they put the bounty up, and uh, on April 20th, I’m capturing the bounty, and uh, we we we come home with the victory.”
