Recently, Haney posted a tweet addressing rumors of him vacating his WBA and WBC titles. A rumor brewed that Haney would vacate his WBA and WBC titles ahead of the Davis vs Garcia fight. As per the rumor, Haney would vacate the titles and move up a weight class.
At only 24 years of age, Haney has made his place in the Lightweight division. The ‘Dream,’ ranked Number 1 in the division, is one of the best athletes to ever grace the lightweight division. Currently, Haney’s pro boxing record stands at 29 wins, with 15 knockouts and no losses.

Twitter account by the name ‘Ray Jackson’ posted a “BREAKING NEWS”, where they mentioned that once Haney vacates his WBA and WBC belts, Garcia and Davis would be fighting for the vacant titles.

The bout Ryan Garcia vs Gervonta Davis is the current hot topic in the boxing community. The post contained a photo of Davis and Garcia with a caption that read, “Sources say Devin Haney is moving up & vacating the belts & Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia will be for the vacant WBA & WBC.”
Haney dismissed the rumors and also took a dig at Ryan Garcia in his reply to the post. He said, “This is 100% not true.. but something like this would happen after they said, “belts don’t matter lol.” As Ryan Garcia said in an interview with ABN Sports Media, “I don’t really care about the belts. I care about who I beat and how I fill my heart.”

The flashy Kingry is all set to fight Tank Davis. Although an official announcement regarding the fight date and venue is yet to be made. ‘Premier Boxing Champions’, the promoter for Davis, is exploring venue options for the fight and is reportedly eyeing the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Oscar De La Hoya has teased the fans with a possible fight date for the event, which is April 15.

Davis last fought in January, knocking out Hector Luis Garcia in a Lightweight matchup. Meanwhile, Ryan Garcia last fought in July 2022, winning the bout against Javier Fortuna via a sixth-round TKO. Garcia has decided not to go for a ‘warm-up bout’ and is in a training camp for his fight against Davis. This could so far possibly be the greatest fight in the career of both fighters.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Fight Hub TV, Devin Haney said that he’s “favoring Ryan Garcia” and believes that Garcia’s size could potentially pose a threat to ‘Tank’. He also credited Garcia for his speed.
