Devin Haney can’t stop taking Ls! Following his devastating loss to Ryan Garcia last month, a fight marred with controversy because of Garcia’s positive doping test, Abraham Nova just dropped a bombshell suggesting he rocked ‘The Dream’ Haney during a past sparring session in an interview with Southpaw TV today!

It’s not even the first sparring session Haney has made the headlines for. Prior to the Ryan Garcia fight, the Victorville native leaked a sparring session between Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney, which reportedly showed Haney getting dropped. However, amid questions about Haney’s position among the elites in the lightweight division after an awful performance against Garcia, Haney couldn’t handle the comments from his former teammate as he branded Nova a “fraud” on social media.

Earlier, Nova reflected on the past, claiming upon his arrival at the gym following a long flight, Devin immediately called for a sparring session despite Nova’s evident jet lag. However, when they did enter the ring, “I was touching that boy up, five shots, head shots, all that. I mean I was touching [that] boy up. He knows he got that work for me—those three to four sessions,” said Nova.

Nova also made a case for himself, suggesting Haney used to share clips of his sparring sessions on social media, but none of his sparring sessions with Haney were ever uploaded. Seeing this interview unfold, Haney quickly jumped into action to discredit Nova, alleging, “Abraham nova is a fraud..”

Haney even claimed that the Puerto Rico born boxer wasn’t giving him a challenge during the sparring sessions, so he had to boot ‘El Super’ from the camp. Instead, Haney stated, “Last few sparring sessions my pops made me use one hand & work on things. I think this was back [in] 2017.” However, things, of course, didn’t end there!

Responding to Haney’s tweet discrediting his statements, the super featherweight boxer asked if he was a fraud—what does that make Haney? Haney is often criticized for being a weight bully, and Nova thinks even during the Garcia fight, Haney had rehydrated to a higher weight and still managed to succumb to Garcia’s left hook, which couldn’t have been affected by the PED found in Garcia’s system.

So, Nova continued, “Cmon champ, we all lose and win in this sport take your L like a Man like I took [mine].” Nova is coming off a loss against O’Shaquie Foster in February this year, which had Foster’s WBC super featherweight title on the line. Regardless, while Haney claims to have kicked out Nova, he couldn’t do the same about the Davis sparring footage.

In the lead up to the Garcia fight, Floyd Mayweather had helped Ryan Garcia acquire the sparring footage, and Garcia, in an attempt to troll Haney, shared it on the internet. There was quite the drama surrounding this incident, with Bill Haney condemning the move from Floyd. However, comparatively, Devin stayed calm while responding to the clip.

Alleging, the video was heavily edited, Devin ‘The Dream’ Haney wrote in a tweet dated March 1, “16 years old & in there holding my own. We bet AB pops & he honored it & paid! Ryan we watched [you] quit we are not the same & never will be tune in April 20th I’ll show it!” However, even Adrien Broner, who was present in the gym, ‌revealed Davis had delivered quite the beatdown on Haney.

Having said that, even if Haney’s loss gets erased from his record, as he and his team are trying to do with the Ryan Garcia doping test debacle, it’s safe to say these revelations have put a dent on Haney’s image. Who do you think is telling the truth? Could Abraham Nova have dropped Devin Haney? Or all of this is a conspiracy theory to destroy Haney’s image?
