Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk is kept in abeyance, but the boxing world continues to talk about it. In the summer of this year, the two heavyweight champions were going back and forth online over their potential fight negotiations. At one point, both boxers had agreed to one another’s terms. However, their bout fell through. As of now, Fury is facing Francis Ngannou, and the unified heavyweight champion defended his belts back in August.

Moreover, the promoter of Fury, Bob Arum, thinks that the bout will take place, eventually. And when it does, it has the potential to make upward of $200 Million. However, Eddie Hearn disagrees. Find out which matchup is the biggest fight in the sport, according to him.

Eddie Hearn on the biggest fight in boxing that involves Tyson Fury

Hearn is the promoter of former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. According to him, a fight between his fighter and Fury is the biggest one. Although one might think he is speaking from a place of bias, it is worth mentioning that the two were anticipated to face each other for the longest time. Both British boxers were once heavyweight champions, and even Joshua was undefeated at the time.

However, the bout fell through, and so did Joshua, who lost his titles and undefeated prestige. But the British promoter still considers this fight to be the biggest because of their stature and fame. In an interview, when asked if Tyson Fury Vs. Oleksandr Usyk is the biggest fight in boxing, he stated, “No, Fury against AJ. I only say that because when you have two global stars, a commercial giant. Fighting each other like Fury AJ is bigger and Uysk’s not the global star but he’s the unified heavyweight champion. It’s a massive fight. First undisputed fight since 1999.”

Although his claim may be debatable, it would be hard to deny the fact that it is one of the biggest fights in the sport and definitely in the heavyweight division. Moreover, only back in August, Hearn made an invitation to Fury for a fight against ‘AJ.’ Let’s see how that is planned out.

What did Eddie Hearn offer Fury?

A month ago, Hearn revealed he would agree with Fury for a bout against Joshua, even if it was not a 50-50 split. Considering the fact that Fury is the champion, he is willing to have him get the better of the deal. A 60-40 split in favor of Fury, to be precise. Reflecting on the same, he stated, “I think it becomes 50/50. But Fury as champion 60/40 at the moment is fair.
