“I really hope [Jake Paul] doesn’t knock Mike Tyson out. I’ll just be really bummed out to see Mike get KO’d at 58 years old,” podcaster and commentator Joe Rogan said in his podcast last month, reflecting on the upcoming bout at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. It appears similar concerns have spread to boxing fans.
With less than 20 days remaining until the much-discussed cross-generational showdown, Boxing Kingdom posted a striking photo of Tyson looking incredibly fit on X earlier today. Initially, the boxing community was split on whether Tyson should step into the ring with Paul, but the growing consensus now leans toward caution, with many concluding it might not be the best move.

“Mike Tyson looking incredibly strong, as he puts the finishing touches on training camp. Are we about to see a huge upset on November 15th,” Boxing Kingdom wrote on X alongside the picture. Mike Tyson has been teasing fans with glimpses of his training on social media, even boldly claiming he’s ready to knock Jake Paul into next week.

However, while the sparring footage and confident remarks are exciting, they haven’t fully silenced concerns about Tyson’s ability to fight at 58—especially against an opponent 31 years his junior. Earlier this year, Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up during a cross-country flight, intensifying fans’ worries about his readiness for such a high-stakes matchup.
Despite what the fans feel, the bout is likely to go as planned, as it’s sanctioned by The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) for an eight-two-minute round fight. Regardless, after discovering the post from Boxing Kingdom, fans expressed their woes for the bout in the comments.

Fan points at brain over muscle to beat Jake Paul
Despite Tyson’s reputation, his age seems to overpower everything else for fans. One user dismissed the legendary boxer’s strength and physique to raise a question about his brain. The user wrote, “It’s not about muscles but [the] brain—can his brain be hit again?” Many boxers suffer from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) in their later lives because of all the punches they take to the head. At 58, the fan is worried—can Tyson’s brain endure such punishment?

Another user acknowledged Tyson’s strength but questioned his stamina, sharing a grim prediction for the fight. “He will be strong. Very strong. But. Has he got any stamina/legs and does he retain any punch resistance? If this goes more than 3 rounds he’s bang in trouble IMO,” the user’s comment read. However, the rounds are reduced to two minutes to combat that issue, still, it’s yet to be seen whether Tyson can keep up with it.
The next user felt Tyson had zero chance of winning the fight at his age, but shared his expectations. “At [58 years] old Tyson probably isn’t capable of winning even against a C-level opponent like Jake Paul. I’m just hoping Mike doesn’t get injured from the competition of training & fighting,” the user wrote. Injuries at Tyson’s age can be detrimental to his life. Hopefully, necessary arrangements are made in the venue to tackle any issue.

Someone else presented the only scenario where Tyson has a chance of winning. “His only chance is if it’s very quick[.] His punch resistance isn’t gonna be the same,” the user commented. However, during Tyson’s fight against Roy Jones Jr., he seemed more aggressive than one would have expected. Still, in that fight, they were not allowed to punch the head.
While everyone else was skeptical of the upcoming fight, this user remained optimistic about Tyson’s performance. “Looks 👀 like Jake Paul might potentially take a nap !💯,” the user wrote. ‘The Problem Child’ hasn’t been knocked out yet, so it would be an interesting outcome if it happened. Judging by the comments on the post, as the fight night draws closer, people have started voicing their concerns about the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight even more. However, it might just be too late. What are you expecting to see on November 15th?
