Former WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder, blamed his trainer Mark Breland after losing his title to Tyson Fury in February 2020. He accused Breland of being a double agent and spiking his water. However, fans didn’t find it credible, and several boxing pundits ridiculed Wilder for making such claims.
Meanwhile, Deontay Wilder remained adamant about his belief and continued to unload on Breland. While Mark Breland had already clarified his part, Wilder revealed that he felt his former trainer’s behavior was different ahead of the fight.
In an interaction with 78 Sports TV, Wilder said that Breland was out of energy in both the fights against Tyson Fury and bashed him for giving interviews at the UK.

“The second fight it was the same way. His energy was off. He didn’t really want to be around and s*** like that, he already knew something was up and we didn’t look at him. Now he runs to the UK people doing interviews. Oh, you want to break your silence with the UK people, talking about somebody else and whatnot,” said Wilder.
However, Wilder remained optimistic about his upcoming future as he envisioned an early comeback. Speaking about it, he added, “But it’s all good, it’s all good. You are talking about it’s the end of my career. That’s only the beginning of greatness.”
