Boxing phenom Deontay Wilder of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, is one of the most celebrated boxers in the heavyweight division. He has fought his arch-nemesis, Tyson Fury, thrice throughout the years, and fans have enjoyed the sensational rivalry between the two. He has not been inside the squared circle since his trilogy fight with Fury. Although he is making a return after almost a year, his recent remarks will certainly won’t be welcomed by his fans as he hinted at the end of his career.

While Deontay Wilder was in conversation with ‘FightHype’, he expressed how he felt when he was presented with a statue of him in his hometown, Tuscaloosa. He mentioned that he was touched to see so many people joining him and his children during the inauguration of his statue.
He said, “It made me feel great and just to see so many men and women you know share tear. And men you know break themselves down and tell their kids this is a real king, this right here is motivation, this is encouragement right here, this is what you want to be like. And once I seen that, you know it’s just kind of made me feel like there’s more to, that I can do, I’m still young, I got three more years left in this business that I’m gonna take part in.”

Apparently, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ will soon make his comeback against Robert Helenius. However, his remarks hinting towards his career nearing its end have upset his fans.
Oleksandr Usyk eyeing a fight with Deontay Wilder
The August 20th battle between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk was a much-anticipated event. The rematch between the two resulted in Usyk emerging as the winner. There was a high probability of Tyson Fury coming back from his retirement to fight the winner of Usyk vs. Joshua. Eventually, as it was suspected, ‘The Gypsy King’ announced his return to go up against Usyk for an undisputed title.

Interestingly, Fury is in talks with Joshua to stage an all-British event against Joshua before taking on Usyk. Following that, Usyk’s manager revealed that the Ukrainian boxer is looking forward to fighting the winner of Wilder vs. Helenius.
