“Delusional”: Fans Rip Into Tommy Fury for Believing That He Is at a ‘World Championship Level’

Tommy Fury has made some bold statements that have left the fans in a frenzy. Back in February this year, Fury handed Jake Paul his first-ever defeat via a split decision. His bout with Paul had generated immense interest and attention. Subsequently, Fury garnered notoriety and credibility in the boxing world. Not to mention, prior to the bout, Fury was a well-recognized figure already but in the capacity of Tyson Fury‘s brother. Now that the younger brother has made a name for himself, another boxing prospect has set his eyes on him.

Viddal Riley, a professional boxer, has been demanded to face Fury next by the fans. Both fighters are young and are promising prospects. Riley is less known outside the squared circle but has achieved as much credibility as Fury inside the ring. He has the same amount of victories and a better knockout ratio. While Riley is open to a potential contest, Fury thinks differently. The fans found his comments to be incoherent and pointed out certain fallacies in his claims.

Tommy Fury vs Viddal Riley; The fans decide

There are plenty of options for Fury at this junction. However, he does not foresee Viddal Riley as being a potential opponent for him. @IFLTV on Twitter reported Fury’s assertion and his reason for not facing Riley. He stated, “No disrespect but Viddal’s fighting a lot lower than me. Say what you want about the opposition but I am fighting at world championship level, I am doing million of PPV buys with all these big names. He is not a big enough draw for me.”

The fans were quick to make their reactions evident. A fan named David Hadley did not find the comments made by Fury reasonable. He briefly stated in one word, “Delusional.”

Another fan Peter Bissett does not find a correlation between construing a famous fighter as a credible fighter. He stated, “Pay per view buys and levels are not the same. YouTube boxing has destroyed that connection”

On the contrary, one fan with the username RanterBanterP understands the place Fury is coming from and states, “Fair point. Dunno about world championship level but he is making millions for a fight so he may as well carry on fighting youtubers, and promoting aftershave. Every young boxer would like that option rather than being in hard fights”

On similar lines, fan Swaggerville welcomes the comments made by Fury and stated, “He clearly meant world championship level money..in fact he’s probably earning more than most world champions. Fair play, he’s fighting at or sub area title level for the sort of money a lot of world champions dream of. Why not fight YouTubers for low risk/high reward?”

A fan named David was confused at Fury’s claim of sparring with this champion and briefly asked, “World championship level?”
