“Delusional”: 8 Years After Public Call-Out, Ronda Rousey vs. Floyd Mayweather Resurfaced Question Branded as “One of the Stupidest” Ever by Combat World

Ronda Rousey is one of those multi-faceted personalities in combat sports who has achieved greatness everywhere she went. The 36-year-old MMA fighter is one of the best women combatants to enter the octagon. But is she at the same level as Floyd Mayweather? Back in 2015, Rousey called out Floyd during their ongoing beef. The same question recently resurfaced on the internet and became the center of ridicule.

The former judoka was born to join the ranks of elite fighters. A brief glimpse at Rousey’s childhood and career would make that evident. But does that alone qualify her to face off against Floyd Mayweather? On one hand, Rousey had managed to remain undefeated for a significant amount of time but lost it to Holly Holm in 2015. On the other, Floyd Mayweather has never tasted defeat in his professional career. So, when the question of a fight between the two reemerged on Facebook, fans could not help but call it stupid.

Ronda Rousey vs. Floyd Mayweather: Mocked

When a fighter is as good as ‘Rowdy’ Ronda, comparisons are inevitable. However, these comparisons may cross the limits of what is possible. Recently, fans went on a field day responding to a Facebook post with a similar idea. Even though the post from Blood Sports & Tears insinuated Ronda could only win in a spelling bee. Fans found the idea as nonsensical as anything can get.

One user said, “Such a dumb question.. in boxing no. In the octagon yes.” The user explained if the fight were to happen with MMA rules, Ronda would win. But if it were to happen with boxing rules, Mayweather would win. What’s more, the fan found the question dumb, implying there was no need for the question to begin with.

Another user took it a step further and said, “Definitely no not even mma smdh people really think she can in a octagon…..delusional maybe a male ufc fighter but Definitely not Ronda.” This user doesn’t even think she could win in an MMA match. The user speculated a male MMA fighter might be able to, but Ronda can’t. 

Someone else said, “That is one of the stupidest questions I’ve ever heard.” While others gave their picks, this user labeled the question as stupid.

One user commented, “Ronda got out boxed by another woman in Ufc.” Claiming another female MMA fighter outboxed Ronda, the user implied she can’t beat Floyd. In fact, Ronda has lost two fights in the UFC, one to Holm and the other against Amanda Nunes. 

The next user said, “She would break his arm but we all know he has the endurance to run from anyone for 12 rounds.” This user did not outright label Rousey the loser but claimed Floyd can avoid Rousey for 12 rounds straight.
