After a gap of over two years, the boxing world witnessed the reemergence of Adrien Broner. On June 9 at Casino Miami, Jai Alai, he met Bill Hutchinson. He is an exciting and talented fighter who can always give an opponent a run for his money. But it seems he has been tinkering away the time-fighting personal battles rather than focusing on the ones inside the ring. But the gifted boxer doesn’t seem to have given up on himself. It might not be for real, but he indicates going to any length to set his name on the right track, per the choice of words used recently.
It should be remembered that it was not the first time Broner played the vanishing act. He received his fourth career loss at the hands of Manny Pacquiao in 2019. Soon after, he went inactive and staged a return in February 2021. But aside from the professional fluctuations, his activities outside the ring kept him on the front page. His struggle with the bottle now borders on becoming folklore.

At least that’s what the clip shared by @300hustlers a few days ago shows. The footage appears to have been borrowed from the ‘Million Dollaz Worth of Game’ podcast. Uploaded on YouTube four months ago, episode 211 featured Adrien Broner talking about life and his troubles.

So in the podcast, host Wallo267 wanted to know the outcome of a hypothetical match between him and Floyd Mayweather Jr., both in their prime. Broner responded, “Let me tell you something, bro, I don’t give a f**k [who’s] in front of me, on the side of me, [or] on the back of me. I’m betting on me.”
Gillie Da Kid and Wallo267 appreciated the former world champion’s stance. Broner repeated once again that he was putting all his money into himself.

Even last year, while talking on another podcast, ‘Cigar Talk,’ Adrien Broner expressed a keen interest in fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr., even an exhibition one. As he gives the impression of eagerly awaiting the next bout, he puts up putatively intense quotes. It’s reasonably possible that he might not have meant what he wrote verbatim. He said, “I will kill over all my babymamas, all 7, and all y’all still my h*3s, but I won’t make a decision that will have us all hurting at the end of the day, so let’s all just f**k together.”
Time is ticking for Adrien Broner, who turned thirty-four last month. He has joined veteran promoter Don King‘s stable. But the kind of opponents he may face during the upcoming months and in the future might as well seal the fate of his legacy. The monetary aspect shouldn’t be forgotten either.
