Ngannou had already established that he did not step into the ring unprepared. He was here to show just how determined he was to shatter Fury’s image and build one of his own in the boxing realm. In the sixth round of the fight, Fury attempted a right hook but accidentally landed an elbow directly on Ngannou’s face. Despite this unexpected blow, the former UFC heavyweight champion absorbed the shot and continued to press forward. Going by the rules, this move should have resulted in a point deduction for Fury. Which, surprisingly, was not the case here.

“I watched the elbow video tens of times and I don’t understand why the referee didn’t take a point from him.” said Ngannou who has been replaying his match with the ‘Gypsy King’ to see what went wrong for the debutant. Even after watching it numerous times, Ngannou was unable to make out why Fury did not get reprimanded for breaking the rules.

There’s no blame the trainer, blame the manager, blame the cutman, blame me, if you’re gonna blame anybody, it was me.” He accepted the harsh reality of the sport, likening it to a raw, unscripted battle where fighters step in, give their all, and then move on, paycheck in hand. He was happy to have earned his share in the fight. With a positive outlook, he eagerly looked forward to his return home to his family.
