Conor Benn has been on a break for two years, as he was banned from the sport for testing positive in UKAD’s anti-doping test results. Benn was at the pinnacle of the UK’s Welterweight division when he was thrown down off his pedestal. Benn was supposed to fight Chris Eubank Jr, and both fighters were going to emulate their fathers’ bout against each other. Interestingly, the date was also kept the same, as they were scheduled to be on the canvas on opposite sides on October 8th, at the O2 Arena, London.

But then the fight was canceled as Benn tested positive. Well now, he’s thinking about making a comeback in boxing, mainly because he has been freed from all the accusations. He’s won the war of two years and now wants to move on with his career. He’s also talked about the prospects of his upcoming fights this year.

In a recent interview with iFL TV, Conor Benn was asked about a specific date that he had in his mind for his upcoming fight. Well, Benn didn’t talk about a specific date, but he’s shown that he’s ready for anything, no matter what comes his way. He wants to prove himself and it doesn’t matter who is standing in the opposite corner.

Benn said, “Whoever they put in front of me, I’ll dismantle, I’ll decapitate. Anyone they put in front of me I’m gonna make sure I go in there and remind everyone why I’m one of the most dangerous Welterweights in the country, who can go into 154, who can go up to 160, and cause problems.” He also revealed that he had been training with boxers of higher division and he can easily handle fighters in his own division now.

Moreover, in the same interview, he also explained that he doesn’t want just any fight. Instead, he desires to make his return with a bang and excitement. It should be a fight that matters, and the world would want to see and pay for it. Benn wants to prove himself yet again.

Before he talked about his carefree mindset when it comes to his opponent, he also mentioned that he doesn’t want a warm-up fight. Instead, he directly wants to go in for a big one. He said, “We’ll go straight into a mega fight. For me, it’s about me coming back and making a real statement.

In addition, he also stated, “It’s not about a warm-up, I can remind everyone. I come straight back into it, straight back into the mix, give me a final eliminator. If the belts come vacant, I was top five before every government body, I’m ready.” So, Benn doesn’t want to fight on an undercard, he needs a main card for himself.
