June 15th is going to be a treat for boxing fans as the fight card is loaded with some exciting bouts. The co-main event at the massive PBC card will feature David Benavidez squaring off against Oleksandr Gvozdyk for the WBC Interim World Light Heavyweight title. On the other hand, Gervonta Davis will fight Frank Martin as part of the main event. Benavidez is on the right track to become one of the biggest pound-for-pound boxers of this generation. Obviously, the credit goes to his boxing prowess, but it is also because of the aura and charisma he brings with him.

The 27-year-old has become a big hit among boxing fans. He is known for his all-Mexican ring walks and walkout songs before his fights. Let’s take a look at some of the best songs he picked for his ring walks ahead of his bout against the Ukrainian.

Ronald Gavril

David Benavidez created history in 2017 as he defeated Ronald Gavril and became the youngest WBC super middleweight champion in the history of the sport. Notably, his ring walk garnered as much attention as his historic victory over Gavril. He entered the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on the beats of ‘Money Team’ by Friyie. And who brings his own corrido(Mexican-style ballad narrating a historical event) for an entry? Well, Benavidez does. The boxer made a grand entrance with his corrido and stunned the world with his victory over Gavril which he repeated the following year too.

J’leon Love

‘The Mexican Monster’ went up against J’Leon Love on March 16th, 2019. The spectators at the AT&T stadium went wild when Benavidez made an entrance to ‘Sobrino de la tia juana’ by Maximo Grado. His spectacular entrance lived up to the boxer’s hype as he defeated Love in the second round with a classic knockout.

Anthony Dirrell

In the same year, Benavidez squared off against Anthony Dirrell. This time he walked towards the ring on the beats of ‘Ni hoy ni mañana’ by Gerardo Ortiz. During the fight, Benavidez landed a strong punch that opened a cut near Dirrell’s right eye. Dirrell’s team had to stop the fight in round 9 as it was getting tough for the fighter to continue fighting with a wound.

Career-Best performances and best ring walks until now

Benavidez faced Caleb Plant at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas last year. He used ‘Sobrino de la tia juana’ by Maximo Grado for the second time as his walkout song. Maybe he was trying to regain the same intensity he had before facing J’Leon Love since he used the same song during his earlier ring walk as well.

2023 was a great year for the ‘Bandera Roja’. He fought against another formidable opponent in Las Vegas at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in November. He went up against Demetrius Andrade and picked DJ Snake’s ‘Ring the Alarm’ as his walkout song. His fans present in the stadium vibed on the lyrics, “Turn off the radio, turn off the bullshit”. Like every other time, he won that fight spectacularly too.
