This weekend, former super-middleweight champ David Benavidez will lock horns with Kyrone Davis in a 10-round fight. Originally, Benavidez was set to lock horns with Jose Uzcategui. However, as Uzcategui tested positive for a banned substance, Kyrone Davis took up this fight.
For now, it’s clear that this fight won’t be for a title eliminator, nor does it guarantee the winner a shot towards the undisputed champ, Canelo Alvarez. However, this bout holds some weight to its name and the winner will surely get a step closer to a title shot.
Coming into this fight, the undefeated Benavidez is an obvious favorite with aggressive fight skills. As he has been successful in the past, he will see no reason to deviate from a tried and tested formula.
