David Benavidez will defend his super middleweight title next week. At the opposite corner stands Demetrius Andrade. Both undefeated boxers will slug it out at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas on November 25. Given the current layout in the 168 lbs category, which involves Canelo Alvarez as well, the Benavidez-Andrade duel is being looked upon with much expectation.

David the ‘Mexican Monster’ became the WBC (interim) Super Middleweight Champion after knocking out David Lemieux in their third meet-up on May 21, 2022. Nearly a year later, he entered the ring again to obliterate Caleb Plant‘s campaign. On the other hand, Demetrius aka ‘Boo Boo’ became a WBO Middleweight Champion in 2018. He defended the title successfully for the next three years. Soon after announcing a move to the super middleweight division, by and large, he stayed out of the ring for the next 14 months. He fought his first battle early this January.

In an interview with Stephen A. Smith, David Benavidez mentioned how Demetrius Andrade could be the ‘best opponent’ of his career. Given his credentials as an Olympian and world champion, the Rhode Island-born Southpaw brings a lot to the table. More so, the stakes are high for both boxers.
