Six feet and two inches tall, Phoenix, Arizona-born David Benavidez is yet to lose a professional bout in his boxing career. Moreover, he doesn’t seem to display any signs of deviating from the track on the way to his twenty-seventh career fight. His opponent Caleb Plant is a technical boxer who relies on counter-attack opportunities. But the twenty-six-year-old fighter, born to a Mexican father and Ecuadorian-Dominican mother, is confident to play a spoilsport early in the fight, as he has done on many occasions.

David Benavidez comes from a family with deep roots in boxing. His father, Jose Benavidez, is a well-established trainer. Whereas his elder brother Jose Benavidez Jr. after a stellar run as an amateur boxer, turned professional in 2010 and eventually became a WBA (Interim) Light Welterweight title holder in 2014. David Benavidez debuted professionally in 2013 and won the vacant WBC Super Middleweight title in 2017. However, he lost the title in 2018 after testing positive for banned drugs.

The subsequent return saw him becoming the WBC Super Middleweight champion in 2019. However, he was to hand it back a year later due to breaching the weight limit during the bout against Roamer Angulo. Two years later, on May 21, 2022, he defeated David Lemieux and became the WBC Interim Super Middleweight champion. His decade-long sojourn in boxing has sparked a renewed interest in his career earnings and where he stands regarding net worth.
