David Benavidez put on a sensational performance in his bout against Kyrone Davis. The young gun walked in with a purpose and his intent was clear from the first gong itself, i.e. to attain a mammoth T/KO win. As a result, everything went as planned for Benavidez, and in the end, he got his hand raised in round 7.
Post the fight, ‘El Bandera Roja’ opened up on the most important point, and that was regarding his potent fight with Canelo.
He said, “I think everyone wants to see me against Canelo, right?” I will go through anybody.”

Later, Benavidez even went after his other rival, Jermall Charlo. He said, “He (Jermall Charlo) is a pu**y”
For a long time now, the former two-time super-middleweight champ showed his hunger to align himself for a fight with Canelo. Also, since the p4p star has won the undisputed 168-pound championship, he has set himself in a place to face any super middleweight.
That said, Benavidez, with a win over Davis, has put his name right on top to be able to get his hands on Canelo. However, there’s no official confirmation pertaining to whether Benavidez will fight the Mexican superstar.

There was also massive news on the internet regarding a fight between Benavidez and the WBC middleweight champ, Jermall Charlo. However, now that ‘El Bandera Roja’ claimed a win over Davis in the 168-pound frame, he’ll only look to trace a shot towards the gold here, rather than going down.
