Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury went head to head for the second time this February. In the balance hung the WBC heavyweight title. Tyson Fury came out victorious and retained his title.
Deontay lost to Fury in the seventh round via technical knockout. Fury dominated the fight and got wilder down a few times. Finally, Wilder’s side threw in the towel in the seventh round and gave fury the win.

Deontay blamed a lot of things for his poor performance. From his leg injuries to his entrance costume, Deontay Wilder spared nobody, giving reasons as to why he lost. Deontay Wilder claimed that his sluggish performance was due to his entrance costume.
In a recent interview, TMZ caught Dana white and his opinion on this whole costume thing. Dana seemed to agree that the heavy costume would have for sure take a lot out of the boxer. No one usually walks out with such a heavy suited armor right before their world heavyweight title fight. And there’s a reason behind it.

Dana spoke about how boxers generally train for such a math up. The necessary steps and wearing a costume that weighs 45 lbs isn’t one of them. Dana said there’s a lot that went into Deontay’s sluggish performance but the costume isn’t the only thing to blame.
Taking no credit away from Tyson Fury, Dana White said, “Fury looked awesome. Fury looked great. Fury fought a great fight. Fury fought a perfect fight.”
Dana White also added that there’s a reason all this doesn’t happen in the UFC. It takes a lot out of the fighters and isn’t the right way to go. It weighed heavy on Wilder’s legs and that showed through all the seven rounds he managed to stay up.

When asked if Dana White is interested in seeing Fury in the UFC, he said he was more than interested. He is interested irrespective of the combat sport Fury Fought in. He was all praises for the fighter and said Deontay’s costume isn’t the only thing to blame. Fury with that performance deserved the result he got.
