On April 20th, with his WBC Super-Lightweight title on the line, Devin Haney, 31-0-0, will square off against Ryan Garcia, 24-1-0, in Brooklyn. Ever since the fight was announced, Garcia and Haney tried their best to sell the match by bantering online and questioning one another’s achievements in the sport. For example, Garcia has even vowed to retire should he be stopped in the first round by Haney!

At the same time, reiterating his faith in his abilities, Garcia declared he would go for Haney’s “neck“. At this, Floyd Mayweather’s protege, Curmel Moton, who just won his third professional fight last night, predicted Garcia vs. Haney. As per Moton, the fight will end via UD!

During their DAZN face-off, Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney spoke about knocking one another out. While Haney, who has 15 KO victories, hoped to knock Garcia out with a right hand, the latter, who won 20 fights via KO, said it would be a “comedy” if he happened to knock ‘The Dream’ out with the left hook he has greatly boasted of. On that note, Curmel Moton feels Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney will be “a great fight“. However, he decided to keep Haney ahead of ‘KingRy’.

They got a lot of history in the amateurs. I feel like Ryan will probably come out hard and try to spook Devin, rush him, and try to get an early stoppage or something,” said Curmel Moton. “But, I feel like Devin is just too smart for that. He [is] going to box, he [is] going to play safe and get the unanimous decision,” concluded Moton who won via UD against Anthony Cuba last night.

In this context, it is worth mentioning that as a boxer, Devin Haney, 5′ 8″, understands his reach well. In all his fights, Devin made commendable use of his jab, playing it safely and patiently. As we have seen, he likes maintaining a tall guard and a wide gap between his feet. This allows him to measure his opponent’s position and camouflage his moves. Therefore, Garcia must be cautious. In case ‘KingRy’ tries to end the fight early, he just might get caught by ‘The Dream’. With that said, do you agree with Curmel Moton? What do you expect from the fight?
