Curmel Moton has been touted as the next big thing in boxing, despite never featuring on any main card to date. The super featherweight wonder kid, best known for his connection with Floyd Mayweather, has taken over the internet because of his latest sparring session with an influencer boxer or YouTuber, whichever fits best. Who’s that?
Well, ‘Big Deal’ Moton stepped into the ring for a sparring session with none other than Jarvis Khattri, known for his YouTube channel. Khattri recently shared a video titled ‘I Boxed 10 Mayweather Pros Until I Got Knocked Out’, featuring Moton as one of his opponents. Following this, when a snippet of their spar surfaced on X, Moton couldn’t help but notice some criticism directed his way. In response, he took to the platform to set the record straight.

After the clip was originally shared on YouTube, Happy Punch shared a snippet from it on X, writing, “Curmel Moton said he went light on Jarvis”. In the clip, Moton can be seen schooling Jarvis with some heavy shots to head and body while pushing the influencer boxer to the ropes. The sheer difference in skills and boxing IQ was especially evident, as Moton walked out unscathed. However, it begs the question, in what world was this a fair pairing?
While Jarvis might have asked the Salt Lake City native to enter the ring with him for some content, one fan expressed criticism towards Moton on X responding to the clip. The fan wrote, “N**ga always sparring people that don’t box”. However, Jarvis does have some experience in the ring, having faced four opponents in the influencer boxing scene.
This was for a YouTube video, I’ve been in there with the best at 126, 130, 135, and 140. I sparred Robeisy Ramirez yesterday. https://t.co/lzjK5dpowk

Nevertheless, Moton quickly responded, clarifying, “This was for a YouTube video, I’ve been in there with the best at 126, 130, 135, and 140.” In fact, many of the big names in the scene have praised the 17-year-old for his boxing prowess, having sparred with him. Regardless, Moton added, “I sparred Robeisy Ramirez yesterday”. Ramirez is a Cuban boxer with a 13-2 professional record and is far more experienced than Moton in comparison.
Interestingly, this isn’t even the first time Moton and Jarvis have exchanged fists in the ring.

Back in November last year, Jarvis was about to make his debut with Misfits Boxing against Bdave at York Hall. And ahead of the fight, Louis Hart, from Boxing Social, caught up with the boxer to probe about his gym mate Moton, who trained together in the Mayweather Gym. Reflecting on his experience with Moton, Jarvis said, “Curmel inspires me to keep training hard”.

The YouTube boxer revealed he would start and finish his training for the day, but “he’s still training there. He’s got [a] whole different work ethic than anyone I know at that gym”. Claiming to have sparred with Moton several times, Jarvis thinks “He’s going to be a world champion one day”.
Having said that, Jarvis might not have been a challenge for Curmel Moton, but fans, including the one who criticized Moton, can’t wait to see who the ‘Big Deal’ would face next! Regardless, Moton’s response to the fan indicates he is hard at work for it. What did you think of Moton’s sparring with Jarvis?
