What do people consider a more profitable pursuit in today’s times – being an athlete or being a content creator? Gone are the days when only an athlete or a Hollywood star had a stranglehold in the business of fame and fortune. Now, a new breed of creators known as influencers is taking over in terms of prominence. The facts don’t lie—influencers like MrBeast, Logan Paul, Jake Paul, KSI, and IShowSpeed have more fan-following on their socials than many top renowned athletes around the world.
Speaking on this subject, the cast of BS w/ Jake Paul along with guests Gary Vee, and Michael Rubin debated thoroughly on whether content creators had more “leverage” than athletes. During the conversation, Jake Paul made a claim about MrBeast which might have remained uncontested until some time ago. Enter soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo who broke the 26-year-old American YouTuber’s record within just a day of making his account public. It seems Jake Paul might just have to hold Ronaldo’s beer.
A regrettable claim from Jake Paul?

In the latest episode of BS w/ Jake Paul, renowned American businessman and internet personality Gary Vaynerchuk aka Gary Vee sounded off the debate by stating that he would choose to be a renowned YouTuber rather than a famous athlete if he had a choice between the two. “I would rather be a top 1% YouTuber than a top 1% athlete. I’m just gonna make, I’m just going to put it on wax.” Why? Gary Vee thinks that influencers are more famous than athletes and hold more “leverage” in today’s world.
“The top 1% YouTubers are dramatically more famous than the top 1% athletes. Let there be no confusion,” the serial entrepreneur said boldly. To this, Jake Paul responded with, “You are ruffling feathers!”
To drive home his reasoning for making such an assertion, he claimed that the “math is very clear”. Possibly, he could be hinting at the top YouTubers’ follower count on their social media account compared to the top athletes around the world.
Thereafter, a discussion started among the group about whether they would choose to be an athlete or an influencer in today’s day and age. And of course, James Donaldson aka MrBeast’s name was bound to come up. “Who would you rather be Tom Brady, LeBron James or MrBeast?” American entrepreneur Rubin asked. In response to the question, Jake Paul answered that he would rather be any of the top athletes Rubin listed. However, here is the kicker! Paul boldly declared, “MrBeast is more powerful than all of them.”
