Terence Crawford has amassed a long following, but there is one peculiar admirer he earned outside the boxing world. From training inside the ring and acting out their parts before the camera, he has found a friend in Hollywood star, Michael B. Jordan. So, when the American boxer called for his fans to come together, the Creed fame actor stepped in first.

Crawford, 36, finds himself nominated in ESPN’s ESPYS’ Best Boxer award category and has stepped up the campaign to bag the award, which honors top athletes and top performances of the year. He turned to his Instagram handle and wrote, “Make sure ya’ll go vote for the #P4P 👑 Votes open until 7/11 on ESPN.com/espys. Link in bio.” The American actor took notice of his friend’s plea and went to the comment section.

Jordan, 37, who sparred with ‘Bud’ and shared the camera with him in ‘Creed 3’, responded with 3 fire emojis, suggesting his support and excitement. And this was not the first time he had supported Crawford in his endeavor. When the 3-division champion was about to step inside the squared circle for the biggest fight of his career against Errol Spence Jr. last year, the Hollywood actor hyped him up and declared, “Let’s go! Make History.”

But this time around, questions remain about whether the Omaha native can bag the award because of his inactivity. He has yet to put on a show for the fans and grace the ring this year. While he moves up and fights Israil Madrimov for the WBA junior middleweight title on August 3, the fans are not sure about the method of the win or whether the performance will be worthy of the award.

However, at least the 40-0 record-holder boxer has the support of Jordan, who has molded himself into a better boxer for the screen. But how good is he with boxing gloves? Crawford once cast his verdict.

When asked about the potential of the Black Panther star’s boxing prowess to qualify as a celebrity boxer, Crawford was all praise for him. He told the MMA Hour, “Michael B. Jordan is very talented. He’s very skilled, he’s athletic. But I can’t go out on a limb and say he’ll be this type of fighter.”

‘Bud’ also highlighted how taking a hit truly brings out your real side. Getting hit once inside the ring and withstanding the power of punches is not everyone’s cup of tea.

Maybe hours of training for the ‘Creed’ series have helped Jordan hone his boxing skills. Who knows? Meanwhile, Crawford has the uphill task of winning a title in a fourth division and solidifying his credentials to bag a fight with Canelo Alvarez. Will he be able to do it? The fans will find out on August 3.
