The road for Conor Benn doesn’t seem to get easier since his failed drug test news took over the internet. The British boxing sensation shocked his fans when he tested positive for his drug test. Even though he was cleared of the accusation by WBC this February, and blamed it on the overconsumption of eggs. It seems that doesn’t solve all the problems for the champ. Despite not agreeing with WBC’s reason given to relieve him, Benn looks forward to returning to the ring.

It should be noted that Benn cannot fight in the UK due to his ongoing investigation with BBBofC. And, his promoter Eddie Hearn did not hold back from taking jabs at the organization for trying to mend Benn’s career. Amongst all the chaos, another setback came the way of ‘The Destroyer.’

A new setback for Conor Benn

Michael Benson from talkSPORT took to Twitter to open up about the setback Conor Benn has coming his way. Ring Magazine has removed Conor Benn from their welterweight rankings following his failed drug test. This comes unexpectedly for Benn as well as the boxing world.

With this, even if Benn fights this year, he won’t be ranked by the Ring magazine for a while. The reason Ring Magazine took this decision was due to the failure of Conor Benn to cooperate with the organization for his ongoing investigation.

The boxing world awaits Conor Benn’s return inside the ring. And he is expected to make a comeback since his failed drug test controversy really soon. But, it should be noted that the troubles for Benn are not all over. He is yet to prove his innocence to BBBofC and UKAD. Until then, Benn won’t be allowed to fight in the UK, his home country.

Who will Conor Benn fight next?

Benn failed his drug test ahead of his fight against Chris Eubank Jr. last October. And since then, the world never witnessed the clash of these two welterweight sensations. But, since being relieved from the accusation by the WBC. Benn has been eager to make a comeback inside the ring.

And it seems like Benn will do what he couldn’t last time, and step into the ring with Eubank Jr. Furthermore, he also hinted at the month of June for the fight. Any official announcements on this are yet to be made. It will be interesting to see these two welterweights dish it out in the ring.
