Conor Benn is all set to make a statement in the welterweight division. The undefeated Brit has faced questions throughout his career. However, his fight against Samuel Vargas will give him another shot at proving his doubters wrong.

The two welterweights will fight as the main event of a stacked card. The fight will be for Benn’s WBA inter-continental welterweight title. However, there is a lot more on the line for the champion. Ahead of the fight, he has given an insight into his mindset.

The 17-0 boxer spoke to SkySports on YouTube and revealed why he would stop Vargas. “I believe I can stop him, I believe I’m more spiteful now than ever, I believe I’m more calculated now. I believe I’m more accurate. There’s a lot of things me and my team have been working on behind closed doors,” said Benn.

The 24-year-old then said, “I just think my intensity when I get in there is just going to be, you know, it’s going to feel rough for god in there. And I feel on fire. I feel ready to go. I feel, I feel, on fire.”

What can we expect from Conor Benn vs. Samuel Vargas?

The honest comments from Benn were a teaser for the fight on Saturday night. If his comments are anything to go by, the bout will entertain fans. So what can fans expect when the two meet in the ring?

Benn is coming into the bout on the back of a victory over Sebastian Formella. Despite getting the victory, the Englishman had to answer the question of why he couldn’t finish Formella. Therefore, this time he will want to make a statement.

Vargas, on the other hand, comes into the bout on the back of a loss to Vergil Ortiz Jr. The experienced Columbian will want to set the record straight and get a victory over the exciting Benn.

Therefore, given these aspects, fans can look forward to an entertaining fight. However, we’re not sure it will go the distance.
