Chris Eubank Jr. was at his spiteful best at the press conference for his upcoming fight against Kamil Szeremeta for the IBO middleweight title on the Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol undercard on October 12. In an angry tirade specifically directed at UK boxing promoters seated behind him, Eubank Jr. hit out at Frank Warren, Eddie Hearn, and all his previous promoters while calling them “scumbags”. And quite predictably, his longtime rival Conor Benn wasn’t spared either.

Scumbags Eddie Hearn and Frank Smith did everything to try and make this fight against Conor Benn still go ahead after knowing that he was on ster*ids,” he said menacingly. The two fighters are at loggerheads with each other since their scheduled bout in 2022 was eventually canceled after Benn tested positive for the banned substance clomiphene. However, Conor Benn wasn’t going to let the insult slide.

Reacting to the clip of Eubank Jr’s verbal onslaught, Benn fired shots at ‘Next Gen’. He claimed that Eubank Jr. blackmailed him for a million dollars to get the fight between them to go ahead.“This is coming from the same tit that tried to blackmail me for a mil to get the fight to go ahead,” Benn wrote on X.

Moreover, he stated that promoters didn’t want to stay with him for a long period of time because he is a “prize prick”, and wants the boxing matchup between them to get finalized at some point in the future so that he can have the pleasure of knocking him out cold. “You’ve had numerous different promoters for a one reason and that’s because you are a prize prick and I cannot wait to knock that big satsuma head clean off your neck,” he further stated in the post.

It must be pointed out that Conor Benn is still unable to box in the United Kingdom due to his doping scandal. The controversial welterweight boxer’s ban was initially lifted by the independent National Anti-Doping Panel but was reinstated after appeals against the lifting of the ban were lodged by the British Boxing Board of Control and UK Anti-Doping.

Subsequently, UK Anti-doping and BBBofC won the appeal against the verdict to lift Conor Benn’s provisional suspension in March 2024. Thus, it is a bit tricky for Hearn right at this moment to make the fight between Benn and Eubank Jr. happen.

Despite where it hit eventually, the angry tirade began with him taking aim at his former promoter—the Head of Queensberry Promotions.

Eubank Jr. ranted against many other renowned promoters in the UK boxing scene when he was asked about him signing a new contract with Ben Shalom’s Boxxer. “Why BOXXER? Because every other promoter out here is a scumbag,” the British boxer said. He targeted Queensberry Promotions’ Frank Warren, who was seated right behind him.

“We have Frank Warren behind me. He has been lying and cheating his way through boxing for the last few decades. He sued me for a couple of hundred thousand a few years ago, so obviously I’d never go with him. Scumbag,” he stated frustratingly. Warren reportedly sued Eubank Jr. after he withdrew from his 2016 title showdown with Tommy Langford, and won a lot of money in damages.

Additionally, he claimed that his former promoter, Kalle Sauerland, kept him in a “terrible contract” for several years, and therefore relegated him to the ‘scumbag’ category as well. However, he did wax lyrical about the most sought-after matchmaker in boxing currently His Excellency Turki Alalshikh.

Apparently, HE Turki Alalshikh cares about fighters’ pay and isn’t interested in keeping a fighter bound by “slave contracts” to exploit them. “All scumbags. The only one who isn’t is [Saudi boxing chief] Turki Alalshikh. This is a man who isn’t trying to take money for fighters, and use lawyers and accountants in slave contracts.,” Eubank Jr passionately said.
